Public Sector Ethics Committees workshop

This workshop is tailored for individuals serving on committees tasked with overseeing ethics management in public sector organisations. It encompasses Ethics Officers, Ethics Champions, Ethics Committee members, as well as participants from related committees like Risk Committees, Audit Committees, and MPAC.

The Public Sector Ethics Committee Training is designed to delve into the responsibilities and mandates of ethics committees operating within the public sector.

During the workshop, the following themes will be introduced and explored:

  • Organisational ethics
  • Governance of organisational ethics
  • Statutory mandate of ethics committees
  • Role of the ethics committee
  • Terms of reference of ethics committees
  • Ethics risk and strategy
  • Reporting to the ethics committee
  • Reporting by the ethics committee
  • Annual work-plan for the ethics committee

The duration of the workshop is a full-day.

After successfully completing the EOCP and the practical assignment, participants are awarded accreditation by the Stellenbosch Business School (SBS) and TEI as Certified Ethics Officers.

In addition, all newly certified Ethics Officers receive public recognition on TEI’s website and are automatically enrolled as TEI Supporters, with their first year of subscription fees covered.
